Want hair extensions? Then ask your stylist these questions

25 Jan

We love stylists. At Dream Girl we just think salons and stylists are just amazing. You walk in wanting a lift and a change and, like magic, you feel like a whole new you.

If you’re thinking about getting hair extensions, though, you need to be prepared and you need to make sure you go to the right salon who’ll make sure you have a happy, healthy and fuss-free experience.

We work hard to make sure the hair extensions we sell are of the highest quality. We use 100% human hair to create extensions that offer shiny, glossy and natural looking hair. It is the easiest way to add length and volume. We also have a great relationship with salons. They get their own trade logins so they can login to our website and arrange their orders t make they always have plenty of stock.

It’s true that salons and stylists do a fantastic job but it’s important that you make sure you know what you’re getting. You shouldn’t be afraid to ask questions and make it really clear what you want and what you want your hair extensions to look like.

First of all you need to book in a consultation. It can be in person or over the phone. This is what you need to ask;

1. Find out how many different types of hair extensions the salon work with. You want to make sure the extensions they have are the right ones for you.

2. Is your hair right for hair extensions? A stylist will be able to tell you if there is any risk that it might damage your hair at all. It also needs to be a couple of inches in length.

3. Will they match the colour perfectly? Dream Girl has a Colour Comparator so you can explore the shades we have and for a natural look you want to pick hair extensions as close to you own colour as possible.

4. The hair extensions need to be blended seamlessly to your own natural hair. You need to ask how they will style your hair once the hair extensions are fitted so that they look like your own hair.

5. How much will it cost? Hair extensions aren’t expensive but once you’ve decided exactly what you want you need to know how much it will be.

6. Hair extensions come in different lengths so you need to decide how long you want your hair to be.

7. How do you make your hair extensions look healthy and glossy everyday? You can get advice and ideas about how to look after your hair extensions from our blog and website but you can also ask your stylist. They might be able to recommend products and have tips that will reduce the amount of damage done to your hair extensions, which will keep them looking like new for longer.

8. As with your natural hair so it is with hair extensions; they need maintaining and regular trips to the salon. Your stylist will be able to take you how often you’ll need to pop in.

9. How long will your hair extensions last? Your natural hair will keep growing so even if your hair extensions are sewn or glued in they will need to be replaced after a while.

10. How do you remove hair extensions? Your stylist will see you need to visit the salon if you’re removing your hair extensions and they’re exactly right.

Stay in touch with us through the week on Facebook or Twitter.

    I got my extensions done at Sensa Salon in Seattle and they were sweet enough to answer all of my questions before I took the plunge! I don’t know why, but I was definitely a bit nervous about extensions before I talked to them. I really did want the length though! I know you’re supposed to play them off like they’re your real hair, but I’ve pretty much been bragging about them all over. 🙂 http://www.sensasalon.com
