Top Knots are back for Spring

jenner-amasUp-dos always have a bit of a moment as the weather starts to warm up. Even though the mercury might not feel like it’s rising just yet, hairstyles always tend to go earlier as we get excited about the summer months.

So suddenly we’re noticing a lot of top knots, where once there was long, flowing locks. Whether for weekend, for work or for a night out, the top knot is as versatile as it comes.

Here’s what you need to know;

The best thing about top knots is they suit anyone. Chiselled, oval face, round face or heart, everyone looks good with a top knot.

If you feel your knot needs a little thickness (those with fine hair can find it a bit of a challenge to have a full bun) then use clip on hair extensions. Tie hair in a high ponytail as normal and then clip on extra sections to add thickness.

A scarf or bow tied about the bun adds a little edge and colour, perfect for spring.

Don’t feel you have to pin back your fringe. In fact a bun with a full fringe looks awesome! Just thank Kendall Jenner.

If it’s a night time look, match the top knot with smoky eyes. For day time, go natural and just focus on a glowing complexion.

Your hair doesn’t have to all go up. The half up-do top knot is a great halfway house and allows you to keep length while trying the style.

To keep it natural don’t use too much product. Hairspray is enough to keep it in place.
